    1. I actually worked at the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's department when these crimes were terrorizing our community. I lived about 2 blocks away from Rex Kreb's victim that sent him to prison for 20 years, serving 10. It was heart wrenching to watch the families and friends come search our community looking for their daughters that had gone missing. There seemed to be a profile of the missing girls, which were young, single, small framed girls from the college. Long after Rex Krebs was taken i [...]

    2. This book made me feel conflicting feels that I wasn't expecting to feel. Admittingly I feel bad that Krebbs went through such abuse from his parental figures. His childhood was terrible and it makes me grateful for my loving and supportive parental figures that I have in my life. However, this does not excuse the fact that Krebbs did multiple terrible deeds against two girls that didn't deserve his rage. The photos are saddening and disturbing but that is what crimes of sexual assault and murde [...]

    3. This is a true crime book which is not as gruesome and it leads you to believe on the cover. Either that or I am just desensitized to such things. The story is sad all the way around. Child abuseisonrapednappingrder.I have teen-aged daughters and it is frightening to think that such things are happening in this world all too often. This book gives you a good insight into the world of such mayhem. I found the first 3/4 of the book to be pretty intriguingbut thought the testimony in the trial was [...]

    4. real life monster. For once in a trial, justice has been served. The only thing I can say for monster Krebs, is at least he almost told the truth when asked, and ultimately accepted he would die by the justice system. Although he had two too many chances with the justice system prior to the last two heinous crimes, he does get what he deserves however, I would have given it 5 stars if there would have been a final chapter on after the trial, and what he felt, and thought, it was definitely a goo [...]

    5. Mitchell's Dead and Buried kept me interested due to his unique writing style, rather, a style that I'm new to. In telling the story of Rex Krebs's rapes and murders of Aundria Crawford and Rachel Newhouse, Mitchell wrote their stories as a first person novella style that truly made me feel like I was part of the story, and these people were the characters, who's thoughts, actions and lives Mitchell allowed me to be a direct part of, in a way that showed me an entirely new viewpoint, and deepene [...]

    6. I have a few minor complaints about pieces of Mitchell's writing style but that's it/ Otherwise I liked the book a lot. It stayed interesting, no real drop off points there and unlike a lot of true crime books these days it had a beginning, middle and an end. It's nice to see the end result and know that some form of justice was received, however incapable of bringing peace to the victims families. Even the portion of the book that dealt with the court trials was very interesting and usually I t [...]

    7. Pretty Good BookThis book is a good book to put you through the thinking process of what is to be done with rapists? Can they be reformed? Can the tools available to modern psychologists and psychiatrists make them into productive members of society? Will they step up their game if they are released, becoming murderers? Then what debt do we owe those victims? Good ending to this book in terms of you having to decide what is a just sentence. Do you question your belief in the death penalty? Then [...]

    8. After having read Corey Mitchell's "Pure Murder" and finding it very readable (and horrifying), I picked up one of Mitchell's earlier true crime books. I saw a show about Rex Krebs at some point (one of those MSNBC specials, I think), so I knew the basics of the case. The author spends a lot of time relating Krebs' childhood, which I didn't mind, but he paid little attention to the victims. And there were several chapters that were beyond plodding; they were essentially court transcripts with a [...]

    9. This book is about Rex Krebs who after only serving ten of a twenty year sentence, kidnapped, raped, and murdered two young college students. This book is very well written, Corey Mitchell did a fantastic job of giving lots of details, but not so much I was bored and the book dragged. Even though the book was well written, it was a hard read for me, being a mom of all girls, one of which is in college and one who's only a few years off from being on her way. Stories like these make me want to lo [...]

    10. Pretty straight forward, but paints a reasonably compelling (in the bad, horrifying way) picture of Rex Krebs, serial rapist and murderer. Takes the reader through his life, his crimes and his trial for the murders of Rachel Newhouse and Audria Crawford. Ending with his sentencing, the book lacks a clear sense of denouenment (no follow up interviews with the families or prison interview with Krebs, for example), but given that this is a true crime book writen by a reporter and published soon aft [...]

    11. A good read-gets you from the start-tough if you're a mother of teen girls, this guy obviously showed signs for years and years that no one caught-and having no real family support system he didn't have much of a chance at getting help-like so many other serial killers that have come to light. Interesting book. I'd give it a four outta five stars- maybe five.

    12. I became paranoid or aware, (however you want to put it) once I read this book. Why am I interested in reading true crime stories?? Well, it's still a "mystery" to me. These are some sad and sick stories but for some reason I'm drawn to them. Not so much now that I'm older, but if you are in that kinda' mood, go for it.

    13. This book is a tragedy, not only for the victims of Rex Krebs, but because of his childhood. His neglect & abuse was the perfect combination to create a serial killer. This man obviously needed a family & support system, but never got it.Highly recommended.

    14. A really interesting read. Rex Krebs is out on parole when he rapes and murders two young women in CA. One of the things I liked about hte book was the in depth discussions of his psychological issues and the opinions of different experts on them.

    15. The tragedy of Rachel Newhouse and Aundria Crawford, murdered by a sex-offender who was released on parole ten years early.

    16. Thanks to this book I am now more aware of my surroundings. The author got down to the point from the beginning. I am relieved that this rapist monster got what he deserved in the end.

    17. It sucks cause I cannot find when I read it and what my thoughts were. Well Maybe I will read it again. I think I liked it. Must be cause after this book I bought many more books by this author.
